BairFind Announces Nationwide Expansion of Search for Missing Children

For Immediate Release, July 18, 2016

Jacksonville, FL – July 18, 2016 – The BairFind Foundation is proud to announce there are now 139 Minor League Baseball teams across the country participating in the search for missing children up from 40 teams last year. BairFind signs in each stadium feature profiles of area missing children, with a goal to place photos in public view, thereby increasing the likelihood of recovery.

BairFind announced earlier this year a partnership with Minor League Baseball and Minor League Baseball Charities to place their “BairFind Signs” in every minor league baseball stadium in America. As Minor League Baseball Charities newest official “Homegrown” Charity Partner, BairFind is expanding the search for missing children through an innovative approach to sports- based marketing.

As a result of efforts to date, there has been a 350% increase from signs in 40 stadiums in 2015, to 139 stadiums in 2016 by mid-season.

“The partnership with Minor League Baseball has enabled us to expand the program across the nation during the 2016 baseball season” said BairFind Founder Dennis Bair, a former minor league pitcher with the Chicago Cubs. “The number of children that we are able to feature continues to grow with each team that we work with. So far, we have added over 500 more profiles of missing children to our signs during these first few months of the season. That number continues to grow as we move into the second half of the season.”

BairFind debuted in 2014 with signs in 26 stadiums, and expanded to 40 stadiums in 2015. 278 missing children were featured during that time, and of those 68 have been safely located. With the nationwide expansion, the number of featured children safely located has already surpassed 100.
