13 Sep Jacksonville City Council Honors BairFind with Resolution
Jacksonville, FL – September 13, 2016 –The Jacksonville City Council presented The BairFind Foundation with a Resolution honoring the work of Founder Dennis Bair and the organization. Dennis Bair, a former minor league pitcher founded The BairFind Foundation as a 501 (C) (3) organization to revolutionize the search for missing children in America by placing concourse signs in sports stadiums featuring area missing children.
Resolution 2016-267-A was introduced by Council Member William Gulliford and co-sponsored by Council Members Doyle Carter and Joyce Morgan. The Resolution adopted April 26, 2016 resolved:
“The City of Jacksonville hereby honors and commends Dennis Bair and The BairFind Foundation for their tireless effort in finding and rescuing missing children, and wishes the organization great success in this most worthwhile cause.”
The Resolution referenced BairFind partners Jacksonville Suns and the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville and Jacksonville Suns owner Ken Babby.
Earlier this year, BairFind was been named an Official “Homegrown” Charity Partner of Minor League Baseball. In partnership with MiLB, the Concourse Sign program expanded from 40 teams to 139 teams participating across the country.
This year over 500 missing children were featured on BairFind Concourse signs in 139 Minor League Baseball Stadium resulting in over 37 million baseball fans having viewed profiles of missing children in minor league ballparks across the country. Over 150 of the children profiled have been safely located.
